Grant Success: Freight Rail Supply Chain Equipment Project in Indiana

Bluejay successfully prepared a $21.5 million Federal Railroad Administration Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant program application to fund the acquisition of railcars to support short line and regional railroads.

The Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern Railroad Supply Chain Equipment Project supports the purchase of a continuous welded rail (CWR) train and ballast hopper railcars to support track-related infrastructure improvements on the Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern Railroad and other Genesee & Wyoming short lines and regional railroads. The project addresses the growing industry shortage of CWR trains and ballast cars that are needed to further infrastructure investments.

Congratulations to the Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern Railroad and Genesee & Wyoming for this important project funding!

To date, Bluejay has won more than $520 million in Federal and state grants for clients supporting numerous infrastructure projects for freight rail, urban connectivity, emissions reductions, roads, bridges, ports, and more. Learn more about our grant services and success.

The CRISI program enhances the safety, efficiency, and reliability of freight rail and intercity passenger systems across the nation. It is one of several Federal infrastructure-related grant programs, many of which were created and funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The BIL provides $1.2 trillion of Federal investments in infrastructure through fiscal year 2026. Take advantage of the funding today for your project by contacting Bluejay Advisors for your Federal and state grant application needs.
