Grant Success: Highway Bridges Project in Maine

Bluejay successfully prepared a $70 million Federal Highway Administration Bridge Investment Program (BIP) grant application to fund the replacement of six bridges carrying rural roads over Interstate 95 (I-95) in Kennebec County, Maine.

The I-95 Accessibility Improvements Minimizing Heavy-Truck Impacts (I-95 AIM HI) Project addresses the six structures located in a priority corridor and are at risk due to insufficient vertical clearances, outdated geometric design, and deterioration. The bridges provide a vital connection linking numerous rural communities to service centers, helping residents meet every day needs. The project will eliminate the threat of a full bridge closure should excess-height trucks strike the bridges and improve the safety, reliability, and economy of I- 95 and surrounding rural roads.

Congratulations to MaineDOT for this important project funding.

This project marks two significant Bluejay milestones: it is the largest single project funding amount that Bluejay has secured for a client and brings Bluejay’s total award amount to more than half a billion dollars since 2015.

The Bridge Investment Program is one of several Federal infrastructure-related grant programs, many of which were created and funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The BIL provides $1.2 trillion of Federal investments in infrastructure through fiscal year 2026. Take advantage of the funding today for your project by contacting Bluejay Advisors for your Federal and state grant application needs.
