Bluejay successfully prepared a $6.9 million Federal Railroad Administration Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant application to fund needed improvements to two bridges on Belpre Industrial Parkersburg Railroad’s (BIP) mainline in southeast Ohio and Parkersburg, West Virginia
The BIP Railroad Regional Connectivity Improvements Project includes repairing and replacing crossties on the 118-year-old historic B&O Sixth Street Railroad Bridge crossing the Ohio River, as well as a large bridge over a stream. The project will ensure the short line can continue to serve customers and support family-wage jobs in the Rust Belt.
Congratulations to the Belpre Industrial Parkersburg Railroad and Cathcart Rail for this important project funding!
To date, Bluejay has won more than $520 million in Federal and state grants for clients supporting numerous infrastructure projects for freight rail, urban connectivity, emissions reductions, roads, bridges, ports, and more. Learn more about our grant services and success.
The CRISI program aims to enhance the safety, efficiency, and reliability of freight rail and intercity passenger systems across the nation. It is one of several Federal infrastructure-related grant programs, many of which were created and funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The BIL provides $1.2 trillion of Federal investments in infrastructure through fiscal year 2026.
