Bluejay Advisors served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Bohren Logistics, Inc., in the sale of the company to Hornish Bros., Inc.
Bohren Logistics was founded by Dave Bohren in 1979 as a dry-van carrier based in Garrett, Indiana, providing truckload services to shippers nationwide; however, it operates primarily in the Midwest. The company operates 100+ tractors, 350+ trailers, and two terminals in Indiana. Bohren also provides third-party logistics services through its subsidiary, Absolute Freight Management.
Hornish Bros was established in 1946 in Defiance, Ohio, and is a family-owned and operated trucking and logistics company with 100+ tractors and 300+ trailers, operating primarily throughout the Great Lakes area. Hornish Bros. intends to operate the Bohren Logistics business under its current name, given the strong reputation it has built over 40 years.
The acquisition includes 475+ rolling stock assets; two facilities, including a 120,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Fort Wayne, IN.; and well-established commercial relationships across various industries.
Dave Bohren, President and Owner, said of the Bluejay Advisors team, “The Bluejay team’s efforts were nonstop. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for everything you have done. God bless you all.”
Chad Baer, CEO and President of Hornish Bros. Inc, said, “We are thrilled to partner with the exceptional professional drivers, transportation associates, and management team that Mr. Bohren has assembled at Bohren Logistics. Bluejay ran a very professional process and navigated the very technical elements of a transportation transaction efficiently and effectively.”
