JAMES SAMUELSEN

Prior to joining Bluejay Advisors, Mr. Samuelsen spent 5 years at OmniTRAX, a privately held short line railroad company owned by The Broe Group, a multibillion dollar family office. During his time at OmniTRAX he worked in the Strategy and Corporate Development function leading growth efforts including sourcing, due diligence and execution on investment, partnership and joint venture opportunities across the OmniTRAX platforms. He also helped to develop and execute integration and growth strategies post-acquisition. Mr. Samuelsen additionally worked at Kenex Holdings, a Private Equity firm where he assisted with capital raising activities as well as strategy and growth initiatives for portfolio companies.
Mr. Samuelsen’s experience in Strategy and Corporate Development ranges from initial business plan development for organic and inorganic growth initiatives to M&A execution, partnerships, business case development, financial and operational modeling/reporting, and project management. He has helped to develop and implement growth plans on acquisition platforms and portfolio companies alike.
Previous to his time at OmniTRAX, Black Hills Corp. in the Financial Planning and Analysis division, a publicly held utility company where he oversaw financial planning for the Independent Power Producer division and assisted in strategic financial analysis on M&A and other development opportunities.
Mr. Samuelsen is a CFA Charterholder and a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.S.B.A. majoring in Finance.
